Checking on the appeal paperwork.
(@ Social Security Administration in Chicago, IL)
Went in yesterday to try and avert emergency pill-less crisis mode. The paperwork should be processing now, hopefully.

I posted a foursquare checkin that I went to the Social Security office yesterday to try to avert pill-less emergency crisis mode. I talked to a woman who talked to the guy who originally did my paperwork. She said that the paperwork is just taking a little time to go through the system. She gave me a benefit letter and had me sign a Request for Reconsideration - Disability Cessation Right to Appear form. I'm not quite sure why I wasn't given this form to sign originally when I went in on June 17th, but I did sign it yesterday. The form states I wish to appear in a face-to-face hearing. There are five levels of appeal in the Social Security disability process. Currently, I am in phase two where it's just a claims person not a hearing. I should find out whether the claims person approved me or not in another month since it takes about 90 days from the first denial which would be mid September give or take. So I guess this form is assuming that the second level is denying me and giving me benefits while on level three. That's at least what I am assuming. I hope this form isn't just automatically putting me at a hearing level since my paperwork is still being appealed on the non-hearing level. At any rate, the woman at the Social Security office seemed to make me think there wasn't cause for concern just yet and that they were working on getting me my temporary benefits. Friday, the paperwork guy wasn’t in. Today's office hours weren’t what I expected. Will keep trying to get this fixed.

cc: Jimmy Jamm Matt Wisslead Lynn Wisslead The Fuck you Stacy days continue today (excuse my language here but I'm really rather upset.). I was going thru some of the boxes from our move. I found a letter from Cigna, my Medicare part D provider this year. It stated that Social Security contacted them and told them that my medicare benefits were going to cease on 9/1 and that I should contact social security if that wasn't the case. In a letter dated June 10th but didn't receive until June 16th, I was told that my reconsideration form for Social Security had been denied for some reason. In that letter the Social Security stated that my benefits would cease UNLESS I went in within ten days of the date of the letter to file an appeal to keep my benefits going while the appeal process continued. On June 17th (seven days from the date of the letter), I sat in the local Social Security office on Lawrence for over two hours and they stated I would have the temporary medical and cash benefits while the appeal process continued. Obviously, the local Social Security office didn't continue to process the paperwork correctly because I shouldn't have then gotten the letter from Cigna. I called Cigna today and argued with them for awhile to get it fixed. They stated I would have to call the social security office. So I then called the national Social Security office and they said there was nothing that they could do over the phone and that I would have to go into the local office. Jim and I were planning on an early movie tomorrow if I get up early enough, but I will have to go into the local Social Security office tomorrow and try and straighten things out. Hopefully, they can get it fixed for me.

Bought a server but it didn't come w a keyboard, mouse, or operating system. I realized last week that we have no more wired keyboards just sitting around the house (only laptops here). So ordered a cheap keyboard so i could install Ubuntu. Package came yesterday, but La Parka didn't want to wait for me to open the package. Blacky does not approve. What the hell are you doing, La Parka?

It's a reason to tweet this song though.
